Using our roots in Ballroom, the Avant-Garde Arts Therapy program is designed to support TGD/LGBTQ+ people in enhancing their expression through vogue, Ballroom, and fashion. The program aims to support LGBTQ+ individuals who are "in the closet," recently "came out," or struggling with their selfidentity and affirm themselves. Sessions will occur bi-weekly.
QMHPs and Healthcare Navigation Specialists will provide education and awareness about harm reduction approaches such as safe injection sites, injection kits, naloxone kits, and medication-assistance treatment options. QMHPs will also offer one-on-one counseling for clients who have been diagnosed or are at risk of opioid use disorders, substance use disorders, HIV, syphilis, and those who engage in sex work to reduce risky behaviors.
The School of Opulence will host bi-monthly clinics to provide free legal services to clients. During the clinics, attorneys will evaluate clients’ legal issues, advise and counsel, and assist in preparing legal paperwork. Consultants will discuss various topics plaguing our clients, such as bankruptcy, debt collection, name and gender marker changes, eviction defense, record expungement, and social security.
QMHPs will facilitate monthly group counseling sessions. During the sessions, QMHPs will utilize several evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, positive psychology, and other person-centered approaches. Group counseling sessions will occur weekly.
The School of Opulence provides linkages and referrals to other support services and resources in the community. We will encourage all partner organizations that are not LGBTQ+-led or serving to participate in the provider training.
